Visiting academics and professionals on what it's like to live and work with us.

Great place to stay, very well fitted and furnished accommodation within a c. 10 walk of the city centre. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful stay on Coronation St. From the first time I contacted Annalise, everything was easy and supportive. Annaliese was very friendly and always willing to help and answer my questions. My flight was delayed, but she was waiting at home to give me a warm welcome. She explained everything about the house and had suggestions for things to do in Cambridge during my entire stay. The location of the house is excellent. The street is very quiet, it connects to the main road, and Fen Causeway is close by for running or just walking in the park. Everything is very well organized, and the room is cleaned weekly. Monica and Sarah do a great job keeping the house very clean. They are always ready to help or have a nice chat. There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer, and guests have their own individual drying rack. The kitchen has everything; it is very well equipped, and nothing is missing. Guests have their own pre-arranged space in the fridge and cupboards. Other nice areas in the house are the dining room and the garden, which has space for bicycles. They are great places to have interesting talks with the housemates. I was very lucky with them, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Everything was excellent. I hope to come back, meet Annalise, Monica, and Sarah again, and keep in touch with everyone who is part of my Coronation St. family.

I had a wonderful four-month stay on Coronation Street. The housemates were all friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. Anneliese and Monica regularly came by to keep everything clean and well maintained, so the house was always comfortable to live in. If I ever have the chance to come back, I want to stay here again!

I unequivocally recommend 5 Fair St serviced rooms to anyone looking for lodging while visiting Cambridge. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would probably have stayed longer if there was availability. The rooms are all en-suite (except one), and clean and bright. The paint is fresh, and the bed was comfortable. The light in the room was excellent, so reading at night was no problem. The kitchen has everything - even a coffee grinder which I so appreciated. It's SO well organized as well - each guest has their own pre-arranged space in the fridge and cupboard. The location is amazing. A grocery store 2 minute walk away, and in the center of town with a huge park almost at your doorstep. Annaliese, the owner, is very nice and helpful. I appreciate that she personally greets each guest when they arrive. The cleaning ladies, Monika and Sarah are also helpful. I stayed at Fair Street, but I'm pretty sure the lodging in Coronation Street is just as clean, cozy and nicely decorated as Fair St. Lastly, I appreciate that Annaliese is not cheap about heating. If you stay here in the winter you will not be cold. Often times owners will chintz on the heating to save money - 5 Fair St is kept at a comfortable temperature.

My 9-month stay in this shared house in Cambridge was truly wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality accommodation. The house was always exceptionally clean, with weekly housekeeping for both my room and the shared kitchen, which made living there very comfortable. What made the experience especially outstanding was Anneliese. She is an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive host who genuinely cares about her guests. She regularly checked that communal supplies like coffee and cleaning products were always available and immediately replaced anything that ran out. Anneliese consistently went above and beyond to create a welcoming and comfortable environment. The location is excellent, very close to the city centre and colleges, all within easy walking distance. The house also offered a fantastic atmosphere, as many of the guests were researchers, creating a peaceful and inspiring environment. I met many wonderful people during my stay. Many thanks to Anneliese for her exceptional hospitality. I warmly recommend this place to anyone seeking a comfortable, well-managed, and welcoming home in Cambridge.

I have nothing but great things to say about my stay at Coronation Street. For starters, the landlady and landlord were extremely helpful and affable from the first to the last of my days there. Such great relationship extended to the cleaning ladies, who also perform their work highly. On the top of being cozy, the rooms are clean and tidy. And the shared kitchen and dining room are spacious and functional. Not to mention the house’s location, which is within easy walking distance to almost everywhere in Cambridge (including the train station and supermarkets). The area is quiet, therefore working from home is also an option. In short, this is the perfect place for visiting scholars and students, as well for any other person looking for temporary accommodation.

Annelise met me at the location when I arrived and despite a last-minute change of arrival time, she was already there when I arrived.

I had a wonderful time at Fair Street during my stay in Cambridge as a visiting PhD student. Anneliese was very friendly and always willing to help if I had any questions. I met some great people while living at Fair Street and the overall atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The house was clean and the cleaners were absolutely lovely company. The location is very convenient, with shops nearby and only a 5-10 minute walk to the city center, and I am definitely going to miss the calm of the big parks almost right next to the house. Overall I would recommend a stay at Fair Street if you’re looking for a place in Cambridge, regardless of the length of the stay.

I spent 3,5 months in total between the two properties on Fair Street and Coronation Street. Both houses are very well located in Cambridge, close to both the train station, the city center, and most of the University. Anneliese was amazing and a super helpful host, ready to help with everything you might need. The rooms were cleaned weekly to perfection (the cleaner I met, Monika, was the kindest and nicest person in the world!). Both houses were perfectly quiet while I was there, which made it easy to focus if working from home. The shared space has everything you need to cook, with both fridge space and shelving personal to you. The other guests were all visiting academics from all over the world, which made for great talks over cooking or a cup of tea. Anneliese and Steve’s houses are just as described, if not better.  Anneliese and Steve’s houses have my warmest recommendations for anyone coming to Cambridge.

Fair Street is the perfect accommodation for a long-term stay. Right next to the Grafton for everyday shopping and just a 10-minute cycle from most university buildings, larger department stores, and the train station. The house is very cozy and completely equipped with all the amenities you'll need for laundry and cooking. Anneliese is a very attentive host that will make your stay in Cambridge very easy.

I had a wonderful stay in Anneliese’s rooms. They are in a beautiful but also convenient area; lots of open green space and old buildings but also many shops and grocery stores nearby. It was very easy to tour Cambridge just by walking as lots of the best sights are close by. In practical terms, the kitchen is large and well equipped (so I could do my own cooking) and the rooms are comfortable and the sound-proofing is good between rooms. Anneliese was a wonderful host and was always available at a moment’s notice to help guests who forgot their keys or are otherwise in trouble. She made my stay very easy and enjoyable and I would love to return!

I spent my whole master's course at Cambridge living in Fair Street and had a very good experience. Fair Street is very well located in Cambridge and I can get anywhere easily, basically within ten minutes' walk of the main city. And within a minute's walk of the apartment, there is a shopping center with shops that can meet almost any needs of life. Before coming to Fair Street, I had never lived in a private accommodation for a long time, and at first I was worried that I would not fit in. But my landlord provided everything I could and my roommates were very kind. I received a very warm welcome at the beginning and the landlady prepared everything in advance on the day I arrived. I moved to Room May after living in Room Reach for two months and both rooms are very cozy. During the whole period of my stay, the landlady took great care of me, not only for my physical health but also for my mental health. She made me feel that I had a friendly family in Cambridge. She would try her best to meet all my needs without affecting other roommates, which I appreciate very much. I recommend this lovely private accommodation to any student or researcher who wants to stay in Cambridge for a short or long period, as I have had an unforgettable and wonderful time.

I stayed in Coronation St. for Easter Term, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there! The house is ideally located, with quick access to the train station, basic shops and restaurants, and the centre. The kitchen - which also serves as the main social space of the house - is spacious, light, well-equipped, and regularly cleaned. The landlady and cleaners are very friendly and always keen to help out. My own room was very practical and perfect for my needs, and I had a lovely bunch of housemates, whom I hope to stay in contact with! All in all I can heartily recommend Coronation St. for visiting students and scholars, especially those looking to find something for medium to long terms.

It's a beautiful little house with lovely bathroom and big kitchen - nice facilities and very clean. Thanks so much for having me stay.

The Cambridge Services Rooms on Fair Street was my home away from home for the few weeks I was at Cambridge for work. I felt right at home instantly. Anneliese was extremely communicative and made every step of booking and checking in extremely convenient. The room was spectacularly clean and the staff were all very friendly and understanding. I enjoyed the fact that I could feel like I was in a comfortable space where I could cook, meet other interesting people, and do my thing while I completed research and explored the charming city of Cambridge. For anyone who wants a peaceful place in a great location, I could not recommend this enough.

I came to Cambridge as a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Law for six months and I found Cambridge Serviced Rooms at the university accommodation website. I cannot overstate how satisfied I was: the room was exactly as promised, very comfortable, clean, with everything I needed, just as the pictures showed. The kitchen has everything one needs as well, it has lots of space, and it is always kept clean by Anneliese herself, and the housekeepers, Monika, and Jessie. The vibe in the house is as good as it gets, and both Anneliese and Stephen were always there when I needed, ranging from practical things in the house to general questions about the city and the UK. The other guests are all visiting academics who originate from all over the world which creates a truly marvellous atmosphere. The location is great: groceries, train station, local bakeries, the city centre itself, everything you need you can find nearby, and there is easy access to the Fen Causeway if you fancy a run by the river. From the very beginning, Anneliese was lovely: kind, helpful, she was more than you can ask of a host really. I recommend her services for anyone, the house seems to fit all purposes, and whenever I get back to Cambridge this is the first place I'll try to book for my stay.

If you're a Cambridge student or visiting academic, 5 Fair Street is perfect. It is close to the university and has the highest quality facilities I have seen. All the rooms are a good size and en suite. The kitchen is also ideal with plenty of storage and appliances. Thoroughly recommend to anyone for short stays and for those needing somewhere to live for longer periods.

We had a really great time in Cambridge and here is a review for your website. We stayed in the accommodation in Fair St and really enjoyed the place. The hosts Anneliese and Steve were amazing and super helpful with everything, which made all Covid-19 related complications like quarantining much easier. Our double room was very nicely decorated and the en-suite bathroom was spacious and brand new. This is also the case for all the kitchen facilities, which are communal. The house is in a prime location within walking distance to the city centre and the beautiful parks close by. We would definitely use the Cambridge Serviced Rooms again for a future stay in Cambridge.
